Tails Linux distribution releases versions 7.6 and 7.6.1

Developers of the Tails Linux distribution have announced the release of version 7.6, followed by a subsequent maintenance release, version 7.6.1. These updates include critical security patches for identified vulnerabilities and various software package updates.

Key changes in version 7.6 include the replacement of the KeePassXC password manager with the GNOME desktop environment tool, Secrets. The update also introduces a new feature designed to help users bypass Tor network connection blocking.

Version 7.6.1 provides updates to the Tor Browser (15.0.9), the Tor network client (0.4.9.6), and the Mozilla Thunderbird email client (140.9). Additionally, firmware package updates have been included to improve support for newer hardware. Users on version 7.0 or newer should have access to automatic system upgrades.
