Tainan announces Hutoupi forest hiking event for National Day

Tainan City has announced the ‘2026 Hutoupi Water and Green – Let’s Hike Together’ event, scheduled for October 10 to coincide with National Day. The activity focuses on forest healing and nature walks, featuring a 7-kilometer hiking route that connects the Hutoupi Scenic Area with the Xinhua Forest Farm.

Participants can engage in a ‘Forest Partner Collection Task’ to learn about local species, including the crested serpent eagle and various flora. The event includes a ‘Forest Breath Market,’ grass games, and a ‘Starry Sky Cinema’ in the evening. A limited ‘Starry Ripples Camping’ package is also available for those wishing to stay overnight.

Registration for the hiking event is 199 TWD, which covers entrance fees for both areas, a 50 TWD market voucher, a badge set, a crossbody bag, and travel insurance. An additional half-day tour of Xinhua is planned for October 11, featuring local fruit picking and historical site visits.
