Tainan City to hold briefing on Guantian District rural planning

The Tainan City Urban Development Bureau is advancing its rural area integrated planning initiative, with an upcoming briefing session scheduled for September 14, 2026, in the Guantian District. This follows the successful launch of similar planning in the Qigu District.

The proposed vision for Guantian focuses on creating a “six-star industry livable city,” emphasizing rice and diamond culture, agricultural tourism, and the leisure appeal of Wusantou. The plan aims to address local challenges such as improving living environments, developing local industries, and managing solar power buffer zones while preserving ecological and cultural characteristics.

To ensure the plan reflects local needs, the bureau has utilized a “bottom-up” approach, including interviews with village chiefs and multi-agency consultations. The briefing will be held at the Guantian District Dongzhuang Community Activity Center to facilitate two-way communication between officials and residents.
