Tainan High Speed Rail station passenger falls onto tracks

A female passenger fell onto the tracks at the Tainan High Speed Rail Station on the morning of the 21st, triggering emergency braking for approaching trains. The incident occurred around 8:11 AM, affecting several services and causing delays.

According to the Taiwan Railway Police, the passenger reportedly tripped and fell due to physical discomfort while waiting on the northbound platform. The emergency stop was successfully executed, and the passenger was able to climb back onto the platform with only minor abrasions and swelling to her knee.

Authorities stated that the case will be referred to the Tainan District Prosecutors Office for investigation under Article 184, Paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code regarding public danger. Railway officials have reminded passengers to remain behind safety lines and avoid distractions such as mobile phones while waiting on platforms.
