Tainan pomelos see high demand in Singapore market

Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che and Ambassador Tung Chen-yuan recently held a promotional event in Singapore titled ‘Tainan Good Pomelo, Meeting in the Lion City’ to introduce Tainan pomelos to local consumers. The event featured tastings to highlight the fruit's characteristics, such as its juicy texture and high vitamin content.

Tainan pomelos have been stocked in multiple FairPrice supermarket outlets across Singapore, where they have reportedly seen high demand. Mayor Huang noted that expanding into overseas markets helps stabilize farmers' income by extending the sales cycle beyond the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival peak seen in Taiwan. The Tainan City Government aims to continue developing the Singaporean market by introducing various high-quality fruits throughout the year.
