Taipei and Dongguan Host Major Asian Anime and Comic Expos in 2026

The 25th 2026 Comic Expo was held in Taipei from July 23‑27 at the Taipei World Trade Center. Organized by the Chinese Animation Publishing Association, the five‑day event featured more than 120 companies, over 1,200 booths and attracted about 635,000 visitors. Exhibitors included major publishers such as Kadokawa Taiwan, Nintendo and popular game titles, while food stalls, cosplay stages and influencer appearances added to the buzz.

In mainland China, the 16th China International Animation Expo opened on August 6 in Dongguan’s Shipaizhen “China Trend Toy City·Manbo Center”. Extended to five days until August 10, the show covered 33,100 sqm, a 25 % increase from the previous year, and showcased over 2,200 IPs from 98 international companies. More than 500 enterprises and 5,000 professional buyers participated, with a strategic partnership announced with the International Animation Association. The expo also launched the nation’s first “trend‑toy product tech‑trade research base” and offered 24 public events, including robot bands and cosplay parades.
