Taiwan schedules water supply cuts across Taipei, New Taipei and other regions
Taiwan's water authorities announced scheduled water supply interruptions affecting nine counties and major cities, including Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Yunlin, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Yilan and Taitung. The cuts, set for early August 2026, will last up to ten hours in specific neighborhoods and streets, such as Neihu Road in Taipei, Shih‑Lin's Soczi Street, and sections of Zhonghe's Jingping Road. An official notice from the Taipei Water Department details the timetable: August 18, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. in Neihu, Taipei; August 10 midnight–6 a.m. in Zhonghe, New Taipei; daily August 10‑15, 11:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. in Sanchong, New Taipei; and daily August 10‑14, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. in Wenshan, Taipei, among other zones. Residents are advised to store water, turn off pumps, and take fire‑prevention precautions during the outages.
