Taipei City holds disaster prevention summer camp for families

The Taipei City Education Bureau recently organized the 115th Disaster Prevention Parent-Child Summer Camp to integrate safety education into daily family life. Hosted by Changchun Elementary School and Chingjiang Elementary School, the program involved 160 elementary school students and their parents.

The camp utilized hands-on simulations and scenario-based learning to teach earthquake evacuation, home escape planning, and first aid skills. Participants practiced the “drop, cover, and hold on” technique in professional earthquake simulation venues and received training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

To encourage practical preparedness, the event also included activities focused on assembling emergency kits and using specialized disaster prevention bandages. The initiative aims to transform passive knowledge into active response capabilities, encouraging families to assess their home safety environments.
