Taipei Game Show announces Indie Game Award 2027 finalists

The Taipei Game Show has announced the finalists for the Indie Game Award 2027. This year's competition saw a 40% increase in participation, with 731 teams from 53 countries and regions submitting entries.

Forty-five teams from 20 countries have advanced to the second round of judging. Notable nominees include Japan's 'Ratatan', Thailand's 'Lost and Found Co.', and the US-based psychological horror adventure 'NAME OF THE WILL'. South Korean developers also saw significant representation, with six games nominated across categories such as Best Audio, Best Visual Art, and Best Design.

In Taiwan, 10 development teams have advanced, including 'OPUS: Prism Peak', which received nominations for Best Narrative, Best Audio, and Best Visual Art. The winning titles will be showcased at the Taipei Game Show from January 21 to 24, 2027.
