Taipei mayoral race: Shen Po-yang leads Chiang Wan-an in latest polls

Recent polling from the Chin-Min Association indicates that Democratic Progressive Party candidate Shen Po-yang has taken a significant lead in the Taipei mayoral race, holding 50.3% support compared to incumbent Chiang Wan-an's 33.3%. This represents a 17-percentage-point gap, marking a major shift from previous polls where Shen trailed.

However, localized street polling in Taipei's Zhongzheng District showed a different trend, with Chiang Wan-an maintaining a slight edge. Meanwhile, political tensions are rising as allegations of coordinated social media campaigns and "AI-driven information warfare" by external actors have been raised by national security officials and political opponents.

Shen has responded to the polling data by stating that while the numbers are encouraging, the ultimate victory depends on actual votes on November 28. He emphasized his focus on policy and addressing municipal issues to gain broader recognition.
