Taipei Open 2026 badminton tournament draws top players

The BWF Taipei Open 2026, a Super 300 event on the World Tour, is being held in Taipei, Taiwan, with a total prize pool of US$240,000 and offering up to 7,000 ranking points to the winner. Top seeds from Chinese Taipei, India, Malaysia and Japan have reached the quarter‑finals, with Indian players notably occupying three spots in the women’s singles draw and Malaysia’s Aaron Chia/Tai and Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan advancing to the men’s and women’s doubles finals respectively.

The tournament’s finals are scheduled for Sunday, 2 August 2026, and can be streamed in Malaysia via Astro Badminton (Channel 815), Astro GO, the sooka Sports platform and the BWF TV YouTube channel. The event serves as a final tune‑up before the World Championships in New Delhi later in August.
