Taipei police arrest driver after ramming officers and fleeing

Police in Taipei's Songshan District arrested a 50-year-old man, surnamed Lin, after he attempted to evade a traffic stop by ramming a police vehicle. Following a pursuit, a task force tracked the suspect to his residence in the Xizhi District of New Taipei City.

During a search of the residence, officers seized heroin, etomidate, amphetamines, drug packaging tools, and cash. Preliminary tests indicated the suspect was under the influence of etomidate and amphetamines while driving. The suspect faces charges including public danger, obstruction of official duties, and violations of the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act.
