Taipei police arrest shooter and husband in targeted shooting

Police in Taipei have made significant progress in investigating a shooting that occurred on September 11 in the Zhongzheng District. A 49-year-old woman of mainland Chinese origin was ambushed and shot three times in the chest, hand, and abdomen near Yingqiao Junior High School.

Authorities have arrested the victim's 50-year-old estranged husband, identified by the surname Chen, on suspicion of aiding the shooter. Investigators believe Chen used a vehicle registered in his name to transport the female gunman. The suspect was apprehended at a highway rest area after driving through various locations to evade detection.

A female shooter, identified by the surname Yi, was also apprehended in the Sanchong District while hiding at a friend's residence. The case is being investigated as a potential contract killing, potentially stemming from a domestic dispute involving a pending divorce. The victim is currently in stable condition.
