Taipei Traditional Market Festival tours conclude
The 2026 Taipei Traditional Market Festival ‘Jianghu Shiguang’ market tour activities have successfully concluded. The program aimed to transform the public perception of traditional markets from mere grocery hubs into cultural spaces by highlighting local history, specialty foods, and the stories of skilled vendors.
The tours connected several locations, including Shuiyuan, Andong, Songjiang, Nanmen, and Huashan markets. Participants visited award-winning stalls to experience signature dishes, such as beef noodles at Andong Market and various specialty snacks at other locations.
In addition to culinary exploration, the initiative integrated agricultural education through interactive tasks. These activities taught participants about ingredient origins and food culture. To encourage local spending, participants who completed specific tasks received 300 TWD in market shopping vouchers. The Taipei City Market Office stated that the event was designed to increase exposure for local vendors and inject new vitality into the city's traditional markets.
