TaithCymru coach service to connect North and South Wales

The Welsh Government has announced the launch of TaithCymru, a new daily long-distance coach service connecting North and South Wales. Scheduled to begin operations on Sunday, October 25, the service will run between Bangor and Carmarthen.

The route will include stops at Caernarfon, Porthmadog, Dolgellau, Machynlleth, Aberystwyth, and Aberaeron. The service is expected to complete the end-to-end journey in between four hours 45 minutes and five hours, which officials state is more than an hour faster than existing rail alternatives that loop through England.

Tickets for the service will be available for purchase starting Tuesday, October 6, via an online booking system managed by Transport for Wales. While fares have not yet been finalized, they are expected to be published once the booking system is live. The initiative, supported by the Network North Wales programme, includes the acquisition of eight new coaches to serve the route.
