Taitung County launches Hakka cultural brand through culinary event

The Taitung County Government hosted the ‘Dong Hao Ke’ brand launch event at the Hakka Cultural Center to promote and preserve local Hakka traditions. The event, titled ‘Gong Xia Shi Ge Wei,’ brought together approximately 400 participants, including local residents and guests.

The program featured a ‘storytelling dining’ experience, where the culinary skills of ten local ‘taste leaders’ were showcased through traditional dishes and personal narratives. This initiative aims to transform Hakka memories into a tangible feast, fostering community connection through shared cooking, eating, and learning.

In addition to the culinary demonstrations, the event included various cultural performances by local Hakka troupes and singers, emphasizing the integration of traditional culture into modern lifestyle aesthetics.
