Taiwan advances virtual asset regulation and stablecoin settlement
Taiwan is advancing its virtual asset regulatory and financial infrastructure following the passage of the Virtual Asset Service Act. The Taipei Exchange (TPEx) has announced a Virtual Asset Forum to be held on November 11, 2026, in Taipei. The event, guided by the Financial Supervisory Commission, will bring together government officials, legal experts, and industry leaders to discuss regulatory evolution, transaction risks, and market challenges.
In a parallel development in the private sector, BitoGroup has launched ‘Bito. ONE’, an enterprise-grade stablecoin settlement pilot program in collaboration with E.SUN Bank. This initiative aims to bridge virtual assets with traditional banking systems, allowing businesses to handle stablecoin (USDT, USDC) payments, transaction verification, and fiat exchange through familiar corporate internet banking interfaces. The program focuses on providing compliant, low-cost solutions for cross-border financial services and liquidity management.
