Taiwan Agriculture Agency selects 10 domestic grain staple food products

The Agriculture and Food Agency (AFA) has announced the winners of the ‘2026 Domestic Grains Staple Food Selection’ program. Commissioned to the Food Industry Development Research Institute, the initiative aims to promote the diverse processing applications of Taiwanese grains such as peanuts, red beans, soybeans, sweet potatoes, and sesame.

Out of 34 participating companies and 51 submitted products, 10 high-quality products were selected based on criteria including market potential, innovation, convenience, nutritional value, and the use of domestic raw materials. The selected items span various categories, including ready-to-eat meals, soups, beverages, and snacks.

The winners include products such as original peanut candy, tofu soda crackers, unsweetened soy milk, sweet potato meat substitutes, black soybean powder, sweet potato chicken soup, high-fiber multigrain rice, sesame cakes, sweet potato soy milk protein drinks, and brown rice congee. The AFA plans to support these products through market promotion, digital marketing, and channel matching to increase visibility and encourage consumers to support local farmers.
