Taiwan and Macau host high-end culinary exchanges
High-end culinary exchanges are taking place between Taiwan and Macau, featuring Michelin-starred chefs and traditional regional cuisines.
At the InterContinental Tainan Daoyuan, a food festival titled ‘Seeking the Flavors of Macau’ is running from September 10 to September 30, 2026. Chef Cho Pak-tung from the InterContinental Macau is presenting 12 classic Macanese-Portuguese dishes, such as Portuguese chicken and Lisbon charcoal-grilled beef, incorporating local Tainan ingredients like white shrimp and clams. In return, Tainan chefs will visit Macau to showcase local specialties like beef soup and milkfish.
In a separate high-profile collaboration, Regent Taipei’s three-Michelin-starred restaurant, Regent Taipei’s Regent Hong Kong (Yi Gong), is conducting a guest residency at Wynn Macau’s two-Michelin-starred Wynn Palace (Wynn Lei Xuan) on September 11 and 12. Executive Chef Chen Wei-chiang will present Cantonese classics, including crispy roasted pigeon and chicken congee with abalone, paired with premium Dassai sake. The event aims to showcase the strength of Taiwanese fine dining on an international stage through cross-border gastronomic dialogue.
