Taiwan announces upcoming charity marathon events in Taipei and Taitung

Two major charity marathon events in Taiwan have announced their upcoming schedules.

The Standard Chartered Taipei Charity Marathon is set to take place on January 10, 2027. As the first stop in Standard Chartered’s global series of ten city marathons, the event aims to attract approximately 26,000 runners from over 50 countries. The race integrates athletic competition with philanthropic efforts, and organizers are offering incentives such as travel packages to other regional marathons in Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur for successful registrants.

Separately, the 2026 Chihshan Hot Spring Charity Marathon will be held on November 1 in Taitung. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the event focuses on supporting local children through the ‘Children’s Book House’ initiative, with a portion of registration fees donated to the cause. The race features various distances, including 42K, 21K, 10K, and 6K, and includes inclusive categories for visually impaired and wheelchair participants.
