Taiwan authorities assist multiple elderly and children in missing person cases

Police and emergency services in Taiwan have successfully located several vulnerable individuals, including elderly citizens and a child, following various incidents of disorientation and loss.

In Kaohsiung, officers assisted a 70-year-old woman who became lost near a hair salon; she was eventually reunited with her son after neighbors provided key information regarding her recent move. In a separate incident, a 90-year-old man was found near Antai Hospital after he lost his way while attempting to find a specific rice ball stall from his memory. Additionally, police at a large-scale running event in the Qianzhen District quickly located a child who had become separated from their family by utilizing photo descriptions and public announcements.

In Hsinchu County, emergency responders utilized thermal imaging drones to locate an 80-year-old man with dementia who had been missing in a mountainous forest area for 12 hours. He was discovered near a valley and transported to a hospital for medical attention.

Local authorities have issued reminders for families to prepare for potential wandering by ensuring elderly relatives carry identification or contact information, and advising parents to take photos of children's clothing during large public events.
