Taiwan badminton star Chou Tien‑Cheng donates prize money to Tainan juvenile centre

World No. 6 Taiwanese badminton player Chou Tien‑Cheng defeated 21‑year‑old Wang Yukei 2‑0 in the Taipei Open men’s singles quarter‑finals, advancing to the semifinals for the tenth time.

After his recent China Open victory, the Badminton Association of Taiwan awarded Chou NT$100,000, which he pledged to donate in full to the Ministry of Justice’s Tainan Juvenile Observation Center. The association also supplied 30 rackets and 100 shuttlecock sets to support a badminton training programme at the centre. Chou said the funds will purchase equipment and coaching to help the youths learn a positive skill and reintegrate into society.
