Taiwan celebrates 30 years of direct presidential elections

Taiwan is preparing for its Double Tenth National Day celebrations, marking the 30th anniversary of direct presidential elections. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released a commemorative video titled ‘The Nation’s Photo Album,’ which utilizes AI technology to blend historical footage with personal interviews to illustrate the country's democratic evolution and the ‘Team Taiwan’ spirit.

Simultaneously, the Cultural Association of China will host a light projection show on the Presidential Office building at Ketagalan Boulevard. Themed ‘Democratic Taiwan, the World’s Heartbeat,’ the display will use light and shadow to trace Taiwan’s journey from the democratic movements of the 1980s to its current status. The event features voiceovers by actress Lian Yuhan and incorporates traditional Taiwanese cultural elements to celebrate the nation's democratic identity.
