Taiwan and China prepare for holiday festivities and service adjustments

Various regions in Taiwan and China are preparing for upcoming holidays, including the Mid-Autumn Festival and Teacher's Day, through cultural events and service adjustments.

In Taiwan, Hsinchu City and Changhua County have announced modified waste collection schedules for the four-day holiday period from September 25 to 28. Hsinchu City will suspend collection on Mid-Autumn Festival day, while Changhua County will suspend collection across most townships on September 27, though Changhua City will maintain regular service.

Cultural festivities are also scheduled. Changhua County is hosting the 2026 Traditional Opera Festival, featuring performances such as “Bei Guan Rock and Roll” and classic opera by the Ming Hua Yuan Drama Troupe. In Kaohsiung, the 2026 International Ocean Dance Festival is set for November, featuring dancers from seven countries, including Australia and the United States.

In Chongqing, China, the Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism has unveiled a comprehensive holiday plan titled “New Charm Chongqing.” The initiative includes ten themed travel routes, four major cultural activities, and over 100 specialized consumption scenarios to boost tourism during the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays.
