Taiwan Detects Multiple Chinese Aircraft and Naval Vessels Crossing Its ADIZ

On July 2, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defence reported that five Chinese aircraft sorties, six People’s Liberation Army Navy vessels and five official ships operated around Taiwanese territorial waters. Two of the aircraft crossed the median line into Taiwan’s southwestern Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ).

The ministry noted that the previous day it had tracked 13 Chinese aircraft sorties, 10 naval vessels and three official ships, with nine aircraft crossing the median line into northern, southwestern and eastern parts of the ADIZ. Taiwan’s forces monitored and responded to all incursions.

The incidents occur amid heightened Chinese military activity following the recent sea‑trial launch of Taiwan’s first domestically built submarine from Kaohsiung, marking its 15th overall trial.
