Taiwan Envoy Mumin Chen promotes cultural exchange at India film festival

Mumin Chen, the representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India, highlighted the role of cinema in fostering cultural cooperation between India and Taiwan during the Taiwan Film Festival in New Delhi.

Chen, who is also a political science professor, identified ‘Dhurandhar’ as the most impressive Indian film he watched last year, noting a specific interest in political cinema. He also expressed admiration for Indian film industry figures, specifically praising Aamir Khan for his work as a producer addressing social issues and acknowledging the popularity of icons like Shah Rukh Khan.

The festival aims to increase awareness of Taiwanese cinema in India through a selection of documentaries and dramas. These films are intended to introduce Indian audiences to Taiwanese culture, technology, and sporting achievements. While the festival has been held annually in Delhi, it expanded its reach to Mumbai this year.
