Taiwan expands community health screenings under Health Taiwan Deep‑Rooted Plan

Beigang Mazu Hospital in Yunlin County has launched a mobile outreach program that offers eleven integrated health checks, including PSA for prostate cancer, hepatitis B and C, colon cancer, oral exams, blood pressure and glucose testing, heart‑rhythm monitoring, body‑composition analysis, sarcopenia and fracture‑risk assessments, urinary function checks and the ICOPE senior‑function evaluation. The service, part of the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s “Health Taiwan Deep‑Rooted Plan,” runs from July 28 to August 14 and includes free PSA testing at the hospital’s cancer‑screening desk and at a branch clinic.

At the same time, New Taipei City’s Housing and Urban Development Center has partnered with Shuanghe Hospital and National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences to bring free adult health examinations, cancer screenings and smart health‑management stations to residents of 2,236 households in social‑housing complexes across Zhonghe, Xinbei and Tucheng. The initiative also offers health‑promotion classes such as “Active Aging” and “Exercise for Strength,” aiming to raise health awareness and improve community interaction.
