Taiwan hosts diverse Mid-Autumn and holiday cultural festivals

Various cultural, sporting, and artistic events are scheduled across Taiwan to coincide with the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Double Tenth Day holidays.

In Chiayi City, the ‘2026 Chiayi Light and Shadow Festival’ will run from September 25 to October 11 at Beixianghu Park. The event features a diverse lineup of musical performances ranging from pop and rock to Hokkien songs, alongside magic and acrobatic circus shows. Featured artists include 83troopers, Li Shengjie, and Penny Tai, concluding with a ‘Phantom Light Acrobatics Circus’ on the final day.

In Taipei, the ‘2026 Guandu International Nature Art Festival’ is underway through December 31, focusing on the theme ‘Mythical Habitat: Whispers of the Gods on the Wetlands.’ The festival includes resident artist programs and environmental education initiatives at Guandu Nature Park.

Taichung City is hosting multiple activities, including a Sports Carnival on September 20 featuring 14 different sports experiences and prize draws. Additionally, Taichung’s cultural venues are hosting Mid-Autumn celebrations, such as the ‘Port Art Mid-Autumn Folk Song Night’ at the Taichung Port Art Center and various calligraphy, circus, and puppet shows across the city’s cultural centers.
