Taiwan housing transactions dip in August amid seasonal trends
Taiwan's real estate transaction volume in August saw a slight monthly decline of 1.6% compared to July, attributed to the traditional Ghost Month, though volumes remained 3.4% higher than the same period last year.
Among major cities, Taoyuan showed the strongest performance with a 9.4% monthly increase and an 8.4% annual increase. In contrast, Taipei saw both monthly and annual declines. Market analysts suggest that upcoming Central Bank meetings may influence future credit control measures and housing demand.
In China, August marked a traditional low season for the property market. According to the China Index Academy, average prices for second-hand residential homes across 100 representative cities fell by 0.45% month-on-month.
