Taiwan initiatives promote elderly care and age-friendly workplaces

Taitung County is hosting the Elderly Care Expo to showcase its progress in age-friendly and multi-generational care. Held across two main venues, the event features the Taitung County Senior Citizen Social Welfare Building and the Taitung County Stadium. The expo focuses on integrating childcare, elderly care, and community services to create a continuous support system for all ages.

In New Taipei City, the Employment Service Office recognized 49 companies for implementing age-friendly workplace practices. These businesses were honored for supporting middle-aged and elderly employees through flexible working arrangements, health management, and job redesign. Gold, silver, and bronze certifications were awarded to companies that demonstrate excellence in retaining senior talent and fostering intergenerational knowledge transfer.
