Taiwan launches anonymous platform to notify partners of STD risks

Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has launched an anonymous third-party notification platform to help individuals inform sexual partners of potential exposure to sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). The initiative follows a rise in infection rates; as of July, syphilis cases increased by 4% and HIV infections by 5% compared to the same period last year.

The platform allows users to send de-identified risk notifications via email to partners, providing health education and screening resources while protecting the sender's privacy. The system deletes contact information immediately after the message is sent.

In Chiayi City, health officials are also promoting Mpox vaccination services and HIV screening. Local authorities are offering vaccination clinics for high-risk groups and providing incentives, such as gift vouchers and self-testing kits, to encourage preventative health measures and regular screening.
