Taiwan launches military appreciation campaigns and cultural events
Taiwan is launching several initiatives to honor its military personnel in observance of Military Appreciation Day. The Ministry of Economic Affairs' Commerce Development Administration has coordinated a massive campaign titled “Protecting the Home, Glory Together.” Over 700 brands and 22,000 retail outlets, including convenience stores, restaurants, and amusement parks, are offering special discounts and gifts to active-duty service members and their families.
Additionally, the Cultural Air Force Base is hosting the “2026 Clear Sky Season,” which includes a special military-themed weekend. This features the “80th Anniversary of the End of War” exhibition, exploring the site's history from a military command center to a cultural base. The event includes performances by the Air Force military band and themed markets offering discounts to military, police, and medical personnel.
A promotional exhibition titled “Hero's Feast” will also be held at Taipei Station from September 3 to 6, showcasing local delicacies and military equipment to foster closer connections between the public and the armed forces.
