Taiwan launches sports promotion tour and cycling tourism festivals

Taiwan is launching several initiatives to promote sports and outdoor tourism. The National Sports Industry Development Center has introduced the ‘Sports Express’ tour, a mobile LED promotional vehicle designed to increase the visibility of upcoming national competitions, including football, volleyball, archery, and softball leagues. The tour kicked off in Pingtung, with planned stops in Yilan, Hualien, Taitung, Tainan, and Taoyuan to encourage grassroots participation and industry professionalization.

Simultaneously, the Tourism Administration has announced the 2026 Taiwan Cycling Tourism Festival. The program features ten major brand activities scheduled throughout the second half of the year, such as the Taichung Cycling Carnival and the Sun Moon Lake Come! Bikeday. To encourage low-carbon travel, the administration is partnering with the Velodash app to offer digital tracking and physical stamp collections across 16 diverse cycling routes, aiming to showcase Taiwan’s natural landscapes and local culture.
