Taiwan Legislative Yuan to vote on Control Yuan nominees
The Legislative Yuan is scheduled to hold a vote on the personnel appointment of Control Yuan members. The process involves reviewing nominees selected by the President to ensure they possess the necessary independence, professionalism, and impartiality to fulfill their constitutional duties.
Pan Meng-an, Secretary-General to the President, accompanied the nominees to meet with the Democratic Progressive Party caucus, expressing hope that all candidates receive bipartisan support to ensure the continued normal operation of the Control Yuan.
In contrast, the Kuomintang caucus has signaled a strict approach to the review process. KMT Secretary-General Hsu Yu-chen stated that the party will not allow unqualified individuals to be appointed and will not yield to political pressure, emphasizing that the legislature must fulfill its constitutional responsibility to vet nominees based on their qualifications and conduct.
