Taiwan mortgage interest subsidies to open for applications in September

The National Land Management Agency has announced that applications for mortgage interest subsidies for both home purchases and residential repairs will open on September 1 at 9:00 AM and close on September 30 at 5:00 PM in the year 115 (2026).

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and meet specific household income and asset requirements. The subsidies offer tiered interest rates: economically and socially disadvantaged individuals can receive a rate of 0.533% below the postal savings rate, while general applicants receive a rate of 0.042% above the postal savings rate.

For home purchases, subsidy limits vary by region, with Taipei City offering up to 2.5 million TWD, New Taipei City up to 2.3 million TWD, and other counties up to 2.1 million TWD, for a maximum term of 20 years. For residential repairs, the subsidy is capped at 800,000 TWD for a maximum term of 15 years. Applications can be submitted online or via mail to local municipal or county governments.
