Taiwan police intensify crackdown on dangerous driving and noise

Taiwan's National Highway Police 7th Brigade carried out a large‑scale enforcement operation at service areas in Qing Shui, Nantou and Dongcaotun, issuing 44 citations for violations such as 13 speeding offenses, 25 seat‑belt failures, illegal vehicle modifications and noise breaches, with nine vehicles failing the noise test.

In parallel, the Luzhu Police Department in Taoyuan conducted routine patrols around Dagu Mountain, targeting motorcycles and drivers involved in high‑decibel modified‑vehicle gatherings and illegal racing. Officers performed identity checks, vehicle inspections and on‑site noise measurements under the city’s “Quiet Taoyuan” plan, issuing citations and threatening criminal prosecution for dangerous driving behaviours.
