Taiwan Poll: Majority Favor Dialogue to Avoid Great Power Leverage

A recent public opinion poll conducted by Aipro Marketing Research for the Democratic Foundation reveals that 55% of Taiwanese respondents believe the future of Taiwan should be addressed through negotiation and dialogue, while 28.9% favor resisting to the end.

Furthermore, 50.2% of those surveyed agreed that Taiwan's destiny should not be determined solely by the United States and China, suggesting that Taiwan should take the initiative in negotiating with mainland China to avoid becoming a bargaining chip in great power interests. Only 33% disagreed with this sentiment.

The survey was conducted between October 4 and 7, targeting adults aged 20 and older, following discussions regarding US-China-Taiwan relations after high-level meetings in September.
