Taiwan prepares for National Day celebrations

Taiwan is preparing for National Day celebrations on October 10. In Taichung, the city government will host a flag-raising ceremony at the Civic Plaza under the theme ‘Radiant National Day, Happy Taichung’. The event will feature a drone formation flying a national flag in a goose-like pattern and 76 reservists presenting a large flag. The De-Fu-Lan Elementary School youth baseball team, recent world champions, has been invited to lead the singing of the national anthem.

Nationwide celebrations include a National Day gala in New Taipei City’s Banqiao Stadium and fireworks in Taitung. The main ceremony at the Presidential Office will feature various performances, including indigenous music and dance, and a parade honoring athletes who won medals at the Nagoya Asian Games. Additionally, a light projection show titled ‘Democratic Taiwan, the Heartbeat of the World’ will be held at the Presidential Office building on October 7, tracing Taiwan’s journey from the democratic movements of the 1980s to the present.
