Taiwan prepares for National Day celebrations and light shows
Taiwan is preparing for National Day celebrations, featuring both political activities and cultural displays. Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen has announced a demanding schedule during the holiday, with over ten events planned across various regions. Lu noted that with approximately 50 days remaining until the year-end elections, political campaigning is intensifying, and she intends to support various candidates as part of her efforts to recommend capable talent for the country.
In Taipei, the Presidential Office will host a light projection show from October 7 to 10 on Ketagalan Boulevard. Themed ‘Democratic Taiwan, the Heartbeat of the World,’ the exhibition commemorates the 30th anniversary of direct presidential elections in Taiwan. The show will utilize light and shadow to depict Taiwan’s democratic evolution, incorporating cultural elements such as traditional market bags, bubble tea, and cinematic works that reflect different eras of the nation’s history.
