Taiwan promotes night tourism through stargazing and music events

Taiwan is hosting various celestial-themed events to promote night tourism. In Alishan, the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency's Chiayi Branch is organizing six sessions of autumn and winter stargazing ecological experience camps. Participants will have the opportunity to observe the Milky Way and bright stars using professional telescopes under guided instruction. The program also includes daytime activities such as visiting giant tree trails, riding the Alishan forest railway, and observing sunspots.

In Taitung, the ‘Most Beautiful Starry Sky’ concert series recently held a successful event at Guanshan Waterfront Park, drawing over 3,000 attendees. The event combined live music from local and featured artists with a digital interactive experience where spectators used mobile phones to create a collective digital starry sky. The Taitung County Government plans to continue the series with upcoming performances in Dawu Township and Green Island to showcase the natural beauty of different regions through night-time tourism.
