Taiwan real estate transactions grow as New Taipei and Taoyuan emerge as market highlights
Taiwan's real estate market showed positive year-on-year growth in August, with transaction volumes in major metropolitan areas increasing compared to the same period last year. According to data from Yung-Ching Real Estate Group, the total transaction volume rose by 17% year-on-year, driven by stable economic growth and a recovery in buyer confidence.
New Taipei City and Taoyuan emerged as key highlights for market activity. In New Taipei, Xikou Station has become a highly popular residential hub due to its proximity to technology parks and its ability to provide quick access to Nangang via the railway. Xikou recorded 222 transactions over the past year, making it one of the most active railway station areas in the northern region.
Taoyuan also saw significant growth, with stations such as Taoyuan, Zhongli, and Neili attracting first-time buyers due to more affordable price points compared to Taipei and New Taipei. CTBC Real Estate noted that while August saw a slight month-on-month decrease due to the lunar calendar influence, the overall annual trend remains upward, supported by industrial development and the spillover effect from core urban areas.
