Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council has condemned China's decision to implement maritime traffic control measures in the Taiwan Strait, calling the move "ridiculous" and a violation of international norms.

Chinese state media announced that due to the approaching Typhoon Dolphin, vessels heading north through the southern entrance of the strait must comply with traffic control requirements and follow instructions from Chinese maritime management authorities. Taiwan rejects Beijing's claim of sovereignty over the strategic waterway, asserting that it is international waters where freedom of navigation must be respected.

The Taiwan Coast Guard stated it has not detected any abnormal Chinese vessel movements or reported broadcast interference from shipping companies. The Coast Guard advised merchant and cargo vessels to disregard any Chinese broadcast demands and to report such incidents immediately to ensure safety and freedom of navigation.
