Taiwan Rice Granary Tanaka Marathon to begin November 8

The 15th annual Taiwan Rice Granary Tanaka Marathon is scheduled to start on November 8 in Tanaka Town, Changhua County. Under the theme “Everyone on the Field,” this year’s event introduces a new “Friendly and Inclusive Group,” featuring a 4-kilometer fun run with accessible routes, low-height service counters, and specialized supply stations to accommodate runners with diverse needs.

The marathon aims to boost local tourism and industry by integrating sports with regional food, culture, and travel. To foster international exchange, the event has invited “Mr. and Ms. Tanaka” from Japan, led by former Aoyama Gakuin University track and field captain Yuto Tanaka, to experience Changhua’s local culture.

Sustainability and charity are also central to this year’s program. Fubon Financial Holding is facilitating tree planting based on running mileage, while Taishan Enterprise is organizing a charity challenge involving material donations. Additionally, the event promotes environmental protection through the “One Cup to the End” initiative, encouraging participants to use reusable cups.
