Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing sees insider buying amid AI demand

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is seeing notable activity from both institutional investors and company insiders. Diversified Trust Co. reduced its stake in the semiconductor manufacturer by 6.3% during the second quarter, selling 4,190 shares. Following this, the firm held 62,707 shares valued at approximately $29,947,000.

In contrast to some institutional selling, TSMC executives, including the CEO, CFO, and COO, have accelerated open-market share purchases in early Q3. These purchases, made with personal funds, are viewed as a signal of confidence in the company’s outlook, which is driven by the ramping of 2nm process technology for AI chips and increasing demand from hyperscalers. Additionally, Vice President Shyue-Shyh Lin acquired 1,000 shares in July at an average price of $74.13 per share.
