Taiwan Senior Health Expo Highlights Mackay Hospital's Social Prescribing and Makong AI Tongue Diagnosis

The third Senior Health Industry Expo ran from August 7‑9 at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1. Mackay Memorial Hospital used the event to showcase its "Healthy Aging: 50+ Third Life Blueprint," featuring dementia prevention, smart‑medical tools, remote‑care services and the internationally‑inspired "social prescribing" model that links non‑drug activities such as arts, gardening and volunteer work to reduce loneliness among older adults. The hospital also demonstrated an automated chest‑X‑ray reporting system, 3D imaging PACS integration and early‑stage lung‑cancer gene screening. Health‑welfare Minister Shih Chong‑liang attended, noting Taiwan’s transition to a super‑aging society and praising Mackay’s long‑term community‑care efforts.

Makong Medical Network debuted an AI‑driven tongue‑image capture system in partnership with AU Optronics, offering rapid, precise health checks that combine traditional Chinese‑medicine diagnostics with digital technology. The company emphasized preventive medicine, providing one‑on‑one TCM consultations, health lectures and lifestyle advice, and highlighted its nationwide presence with 27 clinics serving over 2.2 million patients annually. Mascots Mak‑Bao and Mak‑Niu engaged visitors, underscoring the expo’s focus on proactive, lifelong health management.
