Taiwan Stock Exchange falls for second straight session
The Taiwan stock market has declined for two consecutive sessions, losing more than 525 points or 1.2 percent in total. The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) closed Tuesday at 47,631.96, following a 0.82 percent drop driven by losses in financial, technology, and communications stocks.
Market sentiment remains cautious globally as investors await key U.S. inflation data, which is expected to influence the Federal Reserve’s upcoming monetary policy meeting. This caution was reflected in recent Wall Street performance, where the Dow, NASDAQ, and S&P 500 all saw declines.
In the commodities market, West Texas Intermediate crude oil prices fell 3.1 percent to $89.70 a barrel. The decline follows reports that crude oil exports from Saudi Arabian Red Sea ports are recovering after a pipeline attack earlier this month.
