Taiwan vaccine controversies resurface involving Huang Chih-hsien and Chen Zhi-han

Political commentator Huang Chih-hsien and influencer Chen Zhi-han (known as '館長') have sparked controversy regarding Taiwan's COVID-19 vaccine procurement and the efficacy of the Medigen vaccine.

Huang Chih-hsien recently engaged in a heated exchange with netizens after past criticisms of former Health Minister Chen Chih-chung were resurfaced. Huang had previously accused the government of obstructing vaccine access and suppressing freedom of speech. Following recent discussions regarding a fraud case involving Tzu Chi, Huang defended her past actions and political stances against online critics.

Separately, influencer Chen Zhi-han criticized the Medigen vaccine during a livestream, claiming he had received three doses but mockingly referred to them as "physiological saline." He characterized the vaccine promotion as a scheme for stock speculation. In response, lawyer Wang Hao-yu indicated that such claims against a listed company could violate securities laws and suggested legal action might be pursued if the claims cannot be proven true.
