Taiwan weather alert: Heavy rain and low-pressure zone to bring unstable conditions
Taiwan is experiencing unstable weather due to the influence of a low-pressure zone and southwest monsoon winds. Heavy rain has been reported in several areas, including Keelung, New Taipei, Yilan, and Penghu.
Meteorologists predict that rainfall will intensify between August 19 and August 21, with the western half of the island expected to face intermittent rain. Southern regions and eastern mountainous areas are also at risk of localized heavy downpours.
Additionally, there is potential for a tropical disturbance to form in the South China Sea or the waters east of the Philippines later this week. Such developments could further impact the regional weather pattern. Temperatures remain high, with some areas reaching above 36°C, contributing to muggy conditions.
