Taiwanese agricultural associations host food and agriculture education events

Agricultural associations in Taiwan are hosting various food and agriculture education events to promote local produce and agritourism.

In Miaoli, the Touwu Township Farmers' Association organized a family-oriented pomelo harvesting event. The initiative aims to teach children about the labor involved in farming and to connect consumers directly with local producers. Officials emphasized the importance of supporting farmers' livelihoods by expanding market access for local specialties such as pomelos and tea.

In Yilan, the Toucheng Township Farmers' Association is conducting a food and agriculture education season running through September 28. The program features over 20 sessions covering both agricultural and fishery themes, including guava picking, citrus processing, and traditional fishing demonstrations. The event integrates local history and culture, such as tours of Toucheng Old Street, to enhance the visitor experience and promote the region's unique mountain and sea resources.
