Taiwanese agricultural festivals promote rice culture and local produce

Various agricultural festivals are being held across Taiwan to promote local rice culture and rural tourism.

In Yongjing Township, Changhua County, the 12th Rice and Fruit Seedling Festival is scheduled for October 3. The event, themed ‘Fruit Returning Home,’ features demonstrations of rice dish preparation, fruit seedling grafting techniques, and the sale of local snacks. The festival also includes a charity component where participants can donate receipts to support social welfare groups.

In the Houbi District of Tainan, the ‘2026 Tainan Good Rice Season – Caiqi Duck Rice Field Painting’ event is currently underway through September 25. The initiative utilizes 12 hectares of farmland to create colorful patterns using white, black, yellow, green, and purple rice leaves. The event features walking tours, stage performances, and markets to introduce visitors to local farming life and high-quality rice production.
